offisiell anerkjennelse av flamsk tegnspråk. Dessuten ser det ut til at
Belgia blir det første landet der alle døveskoler bruker tegnskrift ...

Dear colleague,

Last week Wednesday (April 26, 2006), Flemish Parliament cast a vote with
respect to the cultural recognition of Flemish Sign Language (VGT), the
signed language used by approximately 6,000 signers living in Flanders,
which is the northern part of Belgium. The decree was accepted unanimously.
As sign linguists working on and with this language, we are as delighted
as the Flemish Deaf Community itself.
